Tropics Lose to Surfers in Walk Off
The Long Beach Surfers turned back the Hawaii Tropics, 2-1, at Vito Costantino Memorial Stadium. Fernando Castillo, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. The win moves Long Beach to a record of 10-7.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Castillo hit a slider from Phil Thompson for a solo home run. The Surfers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

Castillo said his team "played with focus."
