Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Krill
Portland got a decent performance from pitcher Susila Kartosuwiryo, but it wasn't enough to beat the Bikini Krill. Bikini won the The Trail in Multnomah contest, 5-3. Kartosuwiryo threw 6.1 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. Cliff Crudge earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 1-1. The save was credited to Shea Valance, his 4th.

Bikini used the timely hitting of Pedro Jiménez to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Krill on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I really like what we did out there today," Jiménez said after the game.

The Lumberjacks, now 4-13, continue their slow start.
