Sacramento Wins Again, 3-2
|
The bats were silent for much of the day at The Basilica at Muskrat Slough today. But Sacramento catcher John Kinsella conjured up just enough offense to carry the Mad Popes past the Nashville Bluebirds, 3-2. In a game dominated by the pitching staffs, Kinsella was 1 for 2 with a double and a walk. The Mad Popes now lead 2-0 in the best-of-7 series.
Kosho Kondo had a key at-bat with two out in the bottom of the fourth for Sacramento. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Mad Popes leading 1-0, he hit a 2-run single.
Kondo called the win "a team effort."
Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday at Les Paul Field in Nashville.
