The Charlotte Flyers had to overcome a big game from Montreal second baseman Miguel Martínez to leave Family Dollar Field with a victory. And they did, winning 9-6. Martínez hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Iván Ruíz got the win, improving to 4-4. He held the Blazers to 5 runs on 6 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 0. Alejandro Chávez earned his 6th save in 7 tries.

The Flyers got a lift from right fielder Fuad Demirel, who in the bottom of the first hit a 2-run triple. His 3rd triple of the season put the Flyers on top, 3-0.
