Brooklyn shortstop Pepe Espinosa was sensational. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Montreal beat the Robins, 10-9. Montreal reliever Vonne Baloloy was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Leo Hill took the loss. Montreal, now 2-0, is setting the league on fire so far.

Aniruddha Meenakshisundaram was the walk-off hero for Montreal. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Blazers third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Meenakshisundaram, "but we got it done."
