Cyclones Subdue Valencia, 6-4
|
Miller Shed had a good game, but he could not keep the Valencia Stars from falling, 6-4, to the Omaha Cyclones at Dunn Field. The Valencia second baseman was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice in the loss. Takashi Nakamura picked up the win, improving his season record to 6-9. He struck out 3 in 7 innings. The Stars have now dropped 5 straight.
Omaha relied on the hitting of Logan Niles to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Cyclones on top, 6-0. For the game, Niles had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"That's a solid team effort right there," said Niles. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."
