The Luanda Anglers did little to support starter Troy Torres against the Pretoria Rhinos, but it turned out he didn't need the help.

The right-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Rhinos, striking out 10 and surrendering 2 hits. The performance from Torres allowed Luanda to escape with the 3-0 win despite an anemic offense.

"Nobody came to me and said 'Troy, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Torres told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."

So far this season Torres has a 11-6 record, 19 starts, 133.2 innings, 115 strikeouts and a 3.30 ERA.
