Hawaii Bats Go Silent in 1-0 Loss
|
Vancouver picked up a win at Northwoods Outpost, toppling the Hawaii Tropics, 1-0. Pitcher Geoffrey Greening was one of the reasons the Mounties triumphed. Greening, now 2-0, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing no runs. Xuan Ngo earned the save, his 2nd.
Tony Frost drove in one run for Vancouver. In a tie game with one out in the bottom of the sixth, Frost came through with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Mounties in front, 1-0.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Greening.
With the win, Vancouver improves its record to 6-3.
