De La Cruz Shines in 4-0 Gem
|
Juan De La Cruz of the Havana Pelicans was masterful, pitching a 1-hit shutout, 4-0, against the Milwaukee Choppers.
By going the distance, he was at the same time able to give his bullpen a rest, a fact appreciated by Havana manager Ézékiel Houde.
"It's nice to have someone who can do that from time to time," he said. "He had command of every ball and every pitch. Great location, too."
De La Cruz had 4 strikeouts and 2 walks in the outing.
On the season, De La Cruz has compiled a 12-8 mark with a 4.19 ERA in 22 starts. In pitching 152.2 innings he has 84 strikeouts and 35 walks while limiting the opposition to a .272 batting average.
