Mounties Upend Black Sox, 4-0
|
The Vancouver Mounties topped the Chicago Black Sox, 4-0, with catcher Bryan Harris playing a big role. Harris went 2-2 with a double for the Mounties in the win. Dave Cain got credit for the win, improving to 3-2. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. The win gives Vancouver a season record of 40-39.
In the top of the third, with the game still scoreless, Harris hit a run-scoring single to put his team in the lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Vancouver manager Stafford Carter.
