Twin Cities Makes It 7 Straight with 3-1 Win
|
Vinnie Vitale Stadium was the site of a tense game between the Chicago Black Sox and Twin Cities River Monsters.
Chicago wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Albert Krant, falling to the Twin Cities River Monsters, 3-1. Krant threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. Luis González, 7-9, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. Peter Fuller recorded the save for Twin Cities, his 17th of the season.
Had Majid bin Husam not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, bin Husam hit a 2-run single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the River Monsters.
"Winning breeds more winning, I guess," said bin Husam.
The winning continues for Twin Cities, with the latest making it 7 straight.
