Mesa Raps Adirondack for 5 Hits
It was a sensational day at the plate for Hot Springs Gators first baseman Mario Mesa, but a tough one for the team, as the Gators dropped the contest 13-10 to the Adirondack Beavers.

Even with the loss, Mesa was pure misery for the Adirondack pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked after going 5-for-6 in an explosive display of hitting.

"It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win," said Mesa, who is the 22-year old first baseman .

"Mesa really hit the ball hard and when you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage," Beavers manager Manuel Díaz told BNN reporters after the game. "I feel like we threw him some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."

Mario Mesa singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

In 22 games this year Mesa has posted a .244 average and put up these numbers: 4 home runs, 9 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
