Crawdads Defeat Spuds, 1-0
|
The New Orleans Crawdads got a magnificent performance from pitcher John Lucas, who stifled the Boise offense en route to a 1-0 Crawdads win at The Commanders Palace. The win puts the Crawdads at 40-30, while the Spuds drop to 38-32.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when New Orleans first baseman Colm Alker, facing Samir Qasim, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Crawdads the 1-0 win.
"This is a very good team," said Alker. "We have the chance to do something special."
