Skidding Crawdads Lose 6th Straight
|
New Orleans third baseman Tom Guenette was sensational. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Boise beat the Crawdads, 4-3. Boise reliever Ed Noble picked up the win to move to 4-0. Frank Benítez suffered the loss. Samir Qasim was called on to finish, recording his 8th save.
Boise used a clutch hit from Tracy Allison to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Spuds ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a doozy.
"We ground out the win," said Allison. "That's all that matters."
The Crawdads, at 38-29, have lost 6 straight games.
