Streaking Mets Win Another One, 3-0
|
In a low-scoring clash between New York and Chicago, pitcher Jesús Quiñones was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned accolades in the 3-0 win. Blaine Phillips got credit for the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. New York goes to 9-12.
Ricardo Lara had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the seventh for New York. He came through with a 2-run single to put New York in front, 3-0.
"No one player deserves all the credit when you win," Quiñones said. "And the same is true when you lose."
