Rangers Beat Pittsburgh, 2-1
|
The Pittsburgh Pirates wasted an inspired, 7.1-inning effort from starter Dave Ewing, falling 2-1 to the Texas Rangers at Nolan Ryan Field. With the victory, the Rangers record now stands at 27-21.
Alfonso Correa electrified the crowd in the bottom of the ninth when he took Pittsburgh pitcher James Thomas deep. His solo home run sent the Rangers home winners.
"It's great when the crowd is energized," Correa said.
