Pirates Suffer 7-4 Setback
Alfonso Ruíz was a major contributor to the 7-4 Texas win over Pittsburgh. The Rangers catcher was 2-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Texas reliever Brock Rutledge picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Bob Gray was saddled with the loss. Texas now has a record of 25-21 with the win.

Texas took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Carlos González hit a clutch solo home run to bring Rangers fans to their feet.

"Good pitching stops good hitting," said González. "And vice-versa."
