The Colorado Rockies defeated the New York Mets, 8-1, at Rockiea Field. Colorado right fielder Jorge Acosta had a superb performance. He slugged 3 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring three times. Bob Taylor, the winning pitcher, is now 2-1. He went 5 innings, allowing no runs on 1 hit, while fanning 6 and walking 4. The win puts Colorado at 17-17 this season.

Santiago Rodríguez had a big 2-run double for the Rockies in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Colorado leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from Pat Jackson and swatted a double to left. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rockies ahead, 3-0.

"I like our mindset right now," said Colorado manager Andrew Entin.
